So i've got a very good friend of m ine from the BJJ community who recently was sent to iraq for the second time. His Name is Keith Perkins, and he just left a MMA team he was creating, a full time job, and 2 children to go back for the second time. Well he recently found out he will be working at an Iraqi School for girls grades K-6. Which to him is awesome. There is one thing he has asked of his friends though... Assistance in getting school supplies for these girls. This is many of these girls first times in school, and although they are finally getting a chance to study... They don't have much to learn with... And they go to school with Iraqi Police and American soldiers standing guard.
So here is what i ask of the Indymojo family. Donate what you can I'll be trying to send as much over as possible in February to help out. So if you have any extra school supplies left anywhere... Please donate them!
Tuesday I will be at coaches tavern during the poker event taking school supply donations i will try to keep everyone updated on my blog post e very time i'll be at an Indymojo event taking doations. Remember every little thing will help, and please check out the gallery showing the pictures from the school!
ok so i have started custom altering shirts after the response i got for my mojo shirt i wore to Oranje. If anyone is interested In getting one done i am more than willing to do them, i'v got a few techniques that i'm getting better and better at. And I am always looking for different ideas. because honestly it's about what the wearer is like, and how daring they are.
So here is how i'm gonna try and do this, if you have a shirt that you want cut up, it will range from $10- $20.
If it's a shirt of my own that i've bought and cut up, it will most likely be the price of the shirt plus about $10, again depending on how much detail is put into the shirt.
Now that i've done that check out the shirts i have done thus far!

So saturday night i had a tournament where i worked. And after a long crazy day of fighting I ended up at the Hooters downtown with the other tournament workers, watching the UFC fights. Right near the end something happened that completely took my mind off the fights... which if you know me is nearly impossible. if i'm watching MMA good freaking luck... any way during one of the commercials i look over, and see this blonde loady who looks very familiar. And then this attractive blond guy walks behind her and I almost had a heart attack. It was my first love. Blake,I hadn't seen him in almost 5 years. I was in complete and total shock. He was my high school sweetheart and was always an awesome guy. SO anyway back to the story. I'm sitting there freaking out because I hadn't seen him in so long, and i wasn't sure it was him. So as i'm trying to be sneaky and figure out if it was, the hostess sits them down 3 tables away.. and we are right in each others sight. so i look over and wave. And that was about all it took, Blake freaked out and couldn't stop laughing. It was awesome, almost like out very bad break up hadn't happened. I found out everything that had happened to him in the past few years, his mom just sat there and stared at us... she was the reason for us breaking up, though he doesn't know that. He has grown up to be an awesome guy and at the end of it he's mentioned hanging out again and looking for stuff to do.. So i figure if he ever gets a hold of me i'll bring him out to a mojo event. he just got back from Army Basic training, so he won't be around long but having more friends like him would be awesome.
So has anyone else had one of those types of encounters? I used to never want to see him again, but i'm glad that he's around and he can come back into my life as a friend.
Saturday August 30 was a big night in UFC history. It was the 102nd UFC show and it did not disappoint. The headliners were Minotauro Nogueira vs. Randy Coture, and Thiago Silva vs. Keith Jardine. And although these were big fights that did not disappoint they were not the major highlight of the night.Out of the seven main card fights, four of them were definitely something to talk about.
Billed to possibly be the biggest fight after the co headliners was Demian Maia vs. Nate Marquardt. And these guys did not disappoint. Nate Marquardt ended up beating an undefeated Demian Maia via first-round knockout. Now a first round knockout is not so surprising. The sureprise was that Nate finished off Maia in 21 seconds. Dana White had also said that if this fight ended impressively enough the winner would have a chance at Anderson Silva. So Anderson Silva's next fight will be against either Dan Henderson or Nate Marquardt.
A real shock during the night did not come from any of the 'big names' fighting that night. Instead it came from UFC newbie Todd Duffee(6-0). Todd's fight against Tim Hague lasted an astonishing seven seconds. SEVEN SECONDS people! That is a new UFC knockout record. Todd started out the fight with a strong jab, when Tim fell Todd pounced and landed 8 more devastating shots in 5 seconds. Tim Hague went limp which made the referee stop the fight.
Thiago Silva came back after his devastating first lost to Loyoto Machida. He made quick work out of the 'Dean of Mean' Keith Jardine. The referee stepped in at 1:35 in the first round to stop the beating that Thiago was giving to Keith.
The main event of the night was Antonio 'Minotauro' Nogueira versus Randy 'Captain America' Coture. This was an amazing heavyweight battle that kept everyone on the edge of their seats. It went the full three rounds and both men put up a fight. The best thing about the fight was that both men are very respectful guys who are in the sport for the love of the fight. Coture even commented after the fight that fighters like minotauro are the reason he stays in the game. During the fight whether they were standing up or on the ground Minotauro controlled the fight. Couture didn't look out classed or overwhelmed, just over tired. Although Minotauro could not finish the fight with submission or KO, Antonio Nogueira defeated Randy Couture via unanimous decision.
Here is a quick run down of the rest of the fights that took place during the night.
1. Aaron Simpson defeated Ed Herman via TKO in the second round, Ed's knee gave out and could not continue the fight.
2. Brandon Vera defeated Krzysztof Soszynski via unanimous decision.
3. Jake Rosholt chokes Chris Leben out via arm triangle 1:30 into round 3.
4. Mark Munoz won by split decision over Nick Catone
5. Evan Dunham won by split decision over Marcus Aurelio
6. Gabriel Gonzaga won by TKO over Chris Tuchscherer 2:27 into the first round.
7. Mike Russow won by unanimous decision over Justin McCully
