3:1 & Friends @ The Mousetrap
Born from elements of a musical family tree that spans many styles and many miles, THREE TO ONE began rehearsals in the Winter of 2010 with the idea of picking up a few gigs around the Midwest, maybe some clubs, maybe some black-tie jazz gigs, whatever.
Then something special happened.
It was a sound; hard to describe, but easy to dig. A sound that can change as quick as a cat, yet somehow remain very special and identifiable.
2011 came and went, and with it the dozens of gigs that helped to forge the core of the band’s sound, sending THREE TO ONE into 2012 with momentum, direction, and invaluable stage time doing everything from backing up solo artists and vocal groups to instrumental jazz for black tie events to full-blown rock festival shows.
A commitment to let the band develop organically has produced great results so far.THREE TO ONE often collaborates with local and regional artists for special shows, all the while building a maintaining an impressive list of venues, clients, and accomplishments. Equally at home doing acoustic shows at local wineries, hot sets at clubs and festivals, or intimate house concerts, THREE TO ONE want to extend an open invitation to everyone – young or old, no matter what music you love, rich or poor, dog or cat; to join us on the journey.
Hyryder @ The Mousetrap
The band was formed in Indianapolis in the summer of 2008 and currently consists of Charlie Morgan (lead guitar and vocals), Terry Sharp (bass and vocals), Eric Thompson (rhythm guitar and vocals), Nick Neureiter (drums and vocals) and Scott Jackson (Keyboard world and vocals). Their dynamic interpretation of "jam" rock is turning out fans wherever they play due to their unique acoustic/electric sounds, high intensity jam's, and detailed attention to vocal harmony. Hyryder is widely known as one of the best Grateful Dead/Phish tribute bands in the Mid-West, although fans know and share and even deeper respect with the band through their creative original music. As one of Indianapolis' best up and coming bands, Hyryder has amassed a dedicated fan base who pack venues throughout Indianapolis and travel throughout the Mid-West to catch one of the band's high energy performances.
Hyryder strives musically to create an authentic Grateful Dead/Phish experience, paying close attention to detail. The band routinely plays "monster" 3 set performances, effortlessly weaving in and out from one song to the next. While paying tribute to the original compositions, Hyryder craft's their own unique take on the music, focusing on extended improvisational jamming. The band prides itself on its ever changing progressive jams and set lists that are unique to each particular show. Hyryder performs multiple night runs without ever repeating any material giving fans an intimately different experience each time they take the stage.
Hyryder boasts top honors at The Mousetrap, Indianpolis' best jam band venue and regionally one of the hottest spots on the jam circuit, playing more than 12 gigs a year to a full house. Outside of local and regional gigs, the band is no stranger to the summer music festival scene, boasting nearly 40 festival sets in the last three years alone. Hyryder has been a mainstay at the Head Jamz Music Festival outside of Nashville, TN as well as the John Hartford Bluegrass Festival at the world famous Bill Monroe's Bean Blossom. The band has had the honor of opening up for national acts such as Emmitt-Nershi Band featuring Bill Nershi (String Cheese Incident) and Drew Emmitt (Leftover Salmon) as well as sharing bills with an All-Star lineup of artists including Keller Williams, Dumpstaphunk (feat. Ivan Neville), Larry Keel, The New Mastersounds, Cornmeal, Papadosio, Future Rock and Donna the Buffalo.
In February 2012 Hyryder was recognized as one of the musical highlights in Indianapolis during Superbowl weekend playing gigs in and around the Superbowl Village. 2012 was an incredible year highlighted by a multitude of shows played to a packed house featuring a standing room only 2-night run at The Slippery Noodle, a legendary Naptown blues bar, and culminating with a an epic home town New Years run.
2013 is underway and finds the band currently gearing up for a spring run through the Mid-West as well as working in the studio to record their first EP. Hyryder was deeply honored to have been a part of the 2013 Dead Covers Project, presented by Dead.Net, the Grateful Dead's online presence. Throughout the month of February artists/bands from around the world submitted YouTube videos of themselves performing Grateful Dead "covers". Hyryder moved up the leader board quick and finished strong coming in 3rd overall and with the most YouTube "likes" of any band in the competition.

iPride: Indy Pride 25th Anniversary Exhibition
To celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the first public Pride celebrations in Indianapolis, Indy Pride, Inc., in conjunction the Indianapolis Arts Council, is hosting an exhibition entitled, iPride: Indy Pride 25th Anniversary Exhibition, at the Indianapolis Artsgarden. The exhibition will run from May 31-June 22, 2013, and it coincides with the Circle City IN Pride Festival, which happens June 1-9, 2013.
Volunteer curators Michael Barclay, Museum Studies Graduate Candidate at IUPUI, and Paula Katz, Director and Curator of the Herron Galleries at Herron School of Art & Design, administered a call for original artwork to celebrate the creativity of Hoosier Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender artists. From the submissions nine artists were selected who create works in a variety of media including painting, sculpture, photography, and video.
In addition to the narrative and expressive artwork, historical materials related to Indy Pride’s near and far past have also been carefully amassed. The historical portion of this exhibition will tell the story of LGBT Pride in Indianapolis, growing from a small group of supporters in the early 1980s to 80,000 in 2012. The presentation of historical artifacts visualizes the long and complex journey the Pride celebration has taken in the circle city. Also presented in the exhibition is an in-depth look at Indy Pride Inc., its community service and partnerships in Indianapolis and its week-long celebratory events.
Featured artists include:
Captain Midnight Band w/ Funky Junk
http://www.captainmidnightband.com/
The Captain Midnight Band creates "Water Bed Rock & Roll" for the mind, booty, and soul. Crunchy Rock Guitars, Soaring Vocal Harmonies, and thick R&B grooves create a sonic landscape for the band's suggestive, Sci-Fi imagery and improvisational interplay.
Formed in New Orleans in 2002, The Captain Midnight Band stays true to the Crescent City's celebratory heritage. Their shows are usually sweaty, throbbing events, interspersed with humor, eroticism, and epic jams.
Flattering comparisons to genre-defying acts such as P-Funk, Frank Zappa, and Ween are evident in the band's approach to expressing their true evolving nature, but its the relationship between band and crowd that truly fuel the freakout. The tone of each show is mostly dictated by that evening's particular audience, upping the ante for nightly weirdness!
The band has released 2 independent full-length albums, a handful of internet-only singles and are hard at work simultaneously infiltrating national Jam, Rock, and R&B scenes.

Funky Junk is 4 piece jam machine hailing from good ol' Naptown USA. We love to make people get down and boogie in anyway possible! Check out our music and upcoming dates and come out and meet us sometime!

NATIVE SUN
http://www.nativesunlive.comhttps://www.facebook.com/thenativesun
They call our city Nap because it’s the most slept-on city in America.
This is Native Sun’s answer to the question of how Indianapolis came to be nicknamed Nap Town. All too often, Indy locals lose faith in the spirit of their city and insist it’s named so because it’s a sleepy metropolis in the Midwest with nothing to do or see. This cultural crippling has subdued the drive to create in much of the city’s talent by bogging down artists with despair and leaving them with little hope for a chance to gain national recognition.
But the native sons of Native Sun have a different outlook on their city of Nap. It is their belief that Indianapolis harbors a wealth of talent, particularly in the vein of hip hop. Leading by example, the band envisions that traditional hip hop elements (compelling lyricism, dusty samples, dope beats) paired with the versatility of live instrumentation has the potential to create music that sounds like nothing before it.
Leveraging more than 20 years of combined experience as professional musicians and performers, B Meeks (bass), Sleepy (drums) and B Young (emcee) began to intertwine their musical backgrounds within the context of hip hop when Native Sun formed in 2008. The resourceful musicians draw from their familiarity in gospel, rock, electronic, jazz and soul, creating music that sounds much bigger than what one would expect from a 3 piece act. It is this solid foundation in live music (as compared to produced beats) that sets Native Sun apart from other hip hop groups.
Through their vision to be an example of success to artists in Indianapolis and similar places, Native Sun has earned a reputation as a first call backing band in the Indianapolis hip hop scene. They’ve had the honor of performing with Elzhi of Slum Village and DJ Logic, as well as opening for Foreign Exchange, Musiq Soulchild, Mayer Hawthorne, Black Milk and Muhsinah. And now, after more than 30 hours of grinding in the studio, Native Sun is ready to debut their first full-length album, Step Into The Light.

With this being the 25th Anniversary of Circle City IN Pride, we wanted to look back at 1988 for movies, and we discovered that 1988 was a pretty amazing year for cinema. After an online poll, here is the movie that was chosen:
The Bag Ladies could quite possibly be the nation’s first HIV/AIDS fundraising organization. Since the initial bus tour in 1981, more and more men and women have become part of this on-going and growing tradition. Around Halloween 1981, seventy (70) or so men dressed in drag, boarded three buses, and began a journey to help in the fight against AIDS calling themselves “The Bag Ladies.” The Bag Ladies got their name from an article out of a New York City newspaper. Coburn (Coby) Palmer, one of the original Bag Ladies, read in the article that the New York “bag ladies” were fun and campy and had lots of “hutspah!”
Join the Bag Ladies as we celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Indy Pride celebrations – Loud & Proud! A Bag Lady event showcasing 25 years of music!

Featuring Hunter Valentine
Blasting out their inimitable rock since the summer of 2004, Hunter Valentine has blossomed, establishing a devoted fan base via their self-financed eponymous 2005 EP and building on that foundation with their 2007 full-length The Impatient Romantic (True North Records). Razing crowds from coast to coast in their decrepit van, nailing select European and U.S. Cities over the course of 200-plus shows, the trio has garnered an international fan base as they build out of their native Canada. Hunter Valentine are now poised to break through with their gripping follow up Lessons From the Late Night (Tommy Boy/Fontana/Universal).
Raucous and direct, the outfit comprised of vocalist/guitarist Kiyomi McCloskey, bassist Adrienne Lloyd and drummer Laura Petracca exemplifies girls with a united goal, intense friendship, respect and ability that solidifies their edgy albeit refined music. There’s no hyperbole when it comes to Hunter Valentine. Everything has a direct message, delivered with a devout refusal for glitz or glamour. The hard line says it all, conveyed by confident, unbridled rock ‘n’ roll.

The Friday, June 7th performance will be dubbed “Pride Night at the Cabaret” to celebrate the week long Circle City IN Pride Festival.
Ana Gasteyer
Broadway veteran, Saturday Night Live favorite and current star of ABC’s Suburgatory, brings her unique wit, style and powerhouse vocals to Broadway ditties, standards and show tunes. A night that promises to be classy, brassy and sassy – or jazzy, quirky, and tear-jerkey…depending on world events and/or her hair frizz factor.
The six year star of SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE made her Broadway debut as Columbia in THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW. She then earned raves as Elphaba in WICKED on Broadway (later originating the role for the Chicago production), and starred in the Tony-nominated Broadway productions of THE ROYAL FAMILY, THE THREEPENNY OPERA with Alan Cumming, the acclaimed Off-Broadway hit THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES, and Sondheim’s PASSION at The Chicago Shakespeare Theater.
Gasteyer is best known for her six-year stint on SNL where she created such memorable characters as middle school music teacher Bobbie Moughan-Culp, NPR radio host Margaret Jo, and gave us spot on impersonations of Celine Dion, Martha Stewart and Hilary Rodham Clinton. The Cabaret @ The Colombia Club
The Cabaret’s intimate and elegant atmosphere invokes the art deco era when sophisticated and swanky supper clubs flourished — an era when Hoagy Carmichael could be heard playing jazz on the grand piano, as he did in the 1920′s in the very room where The Cabaret’s performances take place today. The Cabaret is located on the north side of Monument Circle in the Columbia Club. The venue is located on the third floor in the Crystal Terrace. The Cabaret is a professional, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The mission of The Cabaret is to elevate and promote the cabaret art form by presenting the finest in professional cabaret performances and developing the next generation of cabaret artists.

JOE MARCINEK BAND

The band is an ever evolving mixture of original compositions and incredible musicians. Each show has a slightly different lineup and interpretation.
MIDWEST HYPE
http://www.midwesthype.com/https://www.facebook.com/midwesthype
Midwest Hype came of age in the early 2000's in La Porte, IN when lead singer/guitarist George Matthew Prellwitz met drummer Max Kepler and bassist Nate Miller and began playing music together. The three of them went on to Ball State Univeristy, where they met keyboard player Kevin Krizmanich, saxophonist Ben Morrisey, & trumpet player Scott Whitford. Upon graduating, the band proceeded to embark on a grueling tour schedule, playing 150+ shows annually over the course of the next 5 years. In early 2010, emcee Justin "Ideal" Diehl joined the group, adding the perfect complement to the mixture of hip-hop, reggae, funk, and jazz that encapsulates the band.
In 2012 the band released the "Dayglow" EP, beginning with a sold at show at Schuba's Tavern in Chicago. The EP was their first effort working with producer Steven Gillis (formerly of Filter). 2012 saw the band play numerous high-profile shows, including The House of Blues, The Metro, Wicker Park Music Fest, Summercamp Music Festival, and Hyperion, among others.
SOAP
http://www.soaptheband.com/https://www.facebook.com/Soaptheband
Like the band name, Soap’s music is undoubtedly fresh. With influences ranging from jazz, blues and funk to progressive, psychedelic and electronic, Soap skillfully fuses all of these genres into one – dance infused rock. Imagine going to a double matinee showing of Led Zeppelin & P-Funk at Dream Theatre and then heading to an Amsterdam discotheque to dance until the sun came up. That's about as close as can be described without seeing Soap for yourself.
Originally from just south of Chicago, Illinois, Soap uprooted and moved to Minneapolis in 2007 and has become a staple in the thriving Twin Cities music scene. January of 2013 will mark two years of Soap’s weekly residency at The Cabooze, a long-standing tradition at the legendary Minneapolis venue. Following the likes of The Big Wu and God Johnson, Soap has not only continued that tradition, but has expanded on it with a new allegiance of fans. These strong Midwest ties have also helped the band tour successfully throughout the region and beyond, notching over 120 shows the past two years and looking to expand that in 2013.
The band recently released their third full-length studio album, Piece By Piece, in December of 2012 and will be touring in support of the album this winter and spring.

Magnet!c brings the best elements of Dubstep, Electro, Moombahton, Progressive and Trap. Live performances blend original tracks, remixes and custom edits into a completely unique DJ set that continues to attract a growing fan base.
In the last year, Magnet!c has shared stages with Conspirator, Break Science, Archnemesis, Ill-Esha, Phutureprimitive, The Malah, Zoogma, Dopapod, Eumatik, Cosby Sweater, Kaleidoscope Jukebox and many more.
In 2013 Magnetic will perform at several summer festivals and plans to release a new album in late spring/early summer.
The World Class Art Thieves– known to their fans as WorldCAT– create electronic dance music (EDM) that combines elements of glitch-step, moombahton, trap, and electro house in a seamless blend of smooth ethereal sounds, catchy melodies and dirty whomps.
In the last year the duo made the jump from mash-up DJ’s to original electronic music producers, seeking to push the boundaries of their musicality. Having graced the stage with the likes of Dillon Francis, Flosstradamus, Butch Clancy, Dirty Talk, Unlimited Gravity, Mr. Bill, EOTO, Timeflies, Crizzly, NastyNasty, Sugarpill, Gladkill and more. WorldCAT has thrived on the word of mouth of the EDM community, seeing their crowds grow and offers come in from both coasts and overseas as fans spread the word.

You're about to embark on a very exciting adventure.
A journey which along the way will bring to you new color,
new dimension and a new experience.
Let your minds eye go wild.
Every atom of your being is animated by its action.
From an invisible source comes blunted breaks,
deep bass, ethnic elements from around the world, lush keyboards,
warm brass and samples from the caverns of yore...
The music emitting from this jukebox takes you on a kaleidoscopic journey
thru the past, present and future. A deep space beam which hints at
dub, hip hop, downtempo, soul, funk, latin, jazz.
All captured forever in Hi-Fi.
...I am one with its rhythm...
